Host a Space

Site Seen works with property owners who have spaces between lives. Former storefronts. Empty industrial buildings. Rooms that are waiting for what comes next. We temporarily hand those spaces to artists and invite the public in.

If you have a space and are curious about what it could become for a short time, this is where to start.

For Property Owners / Hosts

  • Two women with blonde hair and glasses standing in an industrial-style room with exposed brick walls, engaged in a conversation while looking at their phones. One woman is wearing a denim jacket, and the other is wearing a light green jacket. There are windows, shelves with decorations, and a yellow painting in the background.

    How It Works

We partner with landlords, managers, and owners who are open to letting their space be used for a limited activation. Each project is site specific. We adapt to the character, quirks, and limits of the building.

We walk the space with you, agree on timing and boundaries, then invite artists to respond to the site. The activation is temporary. The footprint is light. The goal is to bring people through your doors and give the building a new story for a moment.

  • A street performer juggling fire outdoors at night, with two men watching in front of a weathered, rusty building and a large white tent in the background.

    What We Look For

    Empty or underused space

    Clear access for visitors

    Basic safety and structural soundness

A landlord or manager who is open to collaboration

A willingness to let the building be seen in a new way

You do not need a perfect white cube! We are interested in character, not perfection

Let’s make art part of your landscape.

  • A woman in a gingham dress is standing on a ladder, installing or adjusting a black chalkboard or poster with writing and drawings on it. Several people are assisting or observing, in an industrial or unfinished space with brick walls and exposed ceiling beams.

What You Get as a Host

    All of our hosts receive:

Increased visibility for a property that might otherwise sit quiet

Foot traffic and interest from the community

Careful, respectful use of your space for a set period

Professional coordination with Site Seen as your main point of contact

Before any activation, we review logistics with you, including access, security, insurance, and how the space will be returned to you following the activation.

 FAQs

  • We work with hosts to keep costs low. The main contribution is in-kind use of the space for the duration of the activation.

  • We keep interventions light and reversible. Any proposed changes are discussed and approved with you in advance.

  • Site Seen carries general liability insurance for the duration of each activation. We also review any of your specific requirements to make sure the event aligns with your building’s needs. Before we begin, we confirm the coverage details with you and outline what is protected. Our goal is to keep the space safe, the process smooth, and the risk low for everyone involved.

  • Most activations run from a weekend to a few weeks, depending on the space and the project.
