Of Tin and Tie
A Site Seen Takeover | Saugerties, NY | January 16, 2027
This application is open by invitation only.
Whether we've worked together before, reached out to you personally, or connected through fellow artists in our network, we're happy you've found us here. Some of you are familiar faces, while others are joining us for the first time. We look forward to seeing your work and exploring the possibility of working together on Of Tin and Tie.
Three spaces. One unexpected encounter.
On January 16, 2027, Site Seen takes over three interconnected art spaces in Saugerties, New York: Newberry Artisan Market, St. Jane Art Gallery, and Sketchbook Gallery.
Of Tin and Tie weaves contemporary art through historic tin-ceilinged interiors, auxiliary spaces, and galleries typically closed for the season, turning familiar surroundings into an unexpected exhibition experience.
Visitors will enter from an unconventional direction, discovering spaces and artwork that are rarely experienced together.
What We Are Looking For
We are especially drawn to work that engages:
Paper and plate as material, object, image, or idea
Food, nourishment, consumption, exchange, or ritual
The everyday as a site for artistic intervention
Repetition, labor, service, and routine
Material transformation and unexpected associations
The relationship between artwork and a space already in use
The overlap between art and daily life
Work should be able to coexist with the rhythms of a working delicatessen, where art, food, commerce, and everyday activity occupy the same space.
Participation
Selected artists will be included in a three-day exhibition at Market Basket Delicatessen during O+ Festival Kingston 2026, with documentation and promotion through Site Seen platforms.
Participating artists will be asked to present one work created in response to Of Paper and Plate, along with one additional work from their existing practice. All exhibited work must be available for sale.
Site Seen is an artist-run nonprofit organization. In the event of artwork sales, the organizational commission supports exhibition production, space activation, documentation, and future programming. The remaining proceeds are paid directly to the artist.
Final details regarding installation, artwork delivery and pickup, participation expectations, and agreement terms will be shared with selected artists.
This is a tightly considered exhibition. Each inclusion is intentional.
If this feels aligned with your practice, we invite you to apply.

Of Paper and Plate
Kingston, NY | October 9–11, 2026
Show us what you are making for consideration in Of Paper and Plate, a three-day Site Seen exhibition presented in collaboration with O+ during the 2026 O+ Festival at Market Basket Delicatessen, a working deli in Kingston, NY.
We are looking for work that responds to paper and plate broadly, materially, conceptually, culturally, or associatively, and that can coexist with a space already in motion.
Selected artists will be asked to present one work responding to the exhibition theme and one additional work from their existing practice.
Submissions may include up to five images.
A $50 submission contribution supports the curatorial review process and helps fund the production of this exhibition. As an artist-run nonprofit, these contributions directly support space activation, documentation, and future programming.
We review only completed submissions, which include this completed form and the submission review fee.
Complete the form above, then proceed to pay the $50 submission fee. Your submission is reviewed only when both steps are finished.
